Warehouse Launch Party at Victoria Square

Last Thursday saw the official launch of the brand spanking new Warehouse store in Victoria Square so I skipped down after work to take some snaps! The Talent Spot competition concluded with two winners - Shauna McGowan a Newtownards-based artist who showcased unique leather work and quirky screen prints on the evening, alongside the beautiful vocals of  County Derry singer Clodagh Quinn who wowed the judges with her song 'Bare My Soul.' Delicious drinks and cocktail flavoured cupcakes from Lily Pink Bakery were a hit amongst customers whilst they browsed the lovely new Autumn/Winter collection.

Zig A Zig Ah

This fab zigzag sequined Louise Gray for Topshop dress arrived into The Rusty Zip this week! It's around size 10-12 and brand new with the label still attached. Priced at only £60 it has a small hole on the front that can easily be mended. Original price £200 so this is a fantastic bargain!

I am also loving this silk pale pink embellished vintage frock. Perfect for Spring parties the detailing is incredible with pearl seed beads and shimmering sequins. It is also currently in The Rusty Zip priced at £45 and is also size 10-12.

Jacob Street Re-Launch Party - 05/04/12

Last month, to celebrate the re-launch of Jacob Street's new store on the Lisburn road (beside Bedeck) a wonderful party was thrown! Everyone was welcomed with nibbles and champagne which accompanied beautiful vintage clothing and furniture, not forgetting fine jewellery. I wanted to buy everything! This gorgeous shop is really worth a visit!!

Upcoming Event - The Festival of Colours

Belfast's biggest ever Spring party returns with a show stopping line-up of South Asian food, music, dance and colour! Known across the globe as India's most energetic and vibrant holiday The Festival of Colours or 'Holi' (which translates to 'colour' in Hindi) celebrates the arrival of Spring in a truly spectacular fusion of colour, culture and creativity.

Here is a link to some photos I took back in 2010 of the event when it was at St. George's Market - http://belfastfashion.blogspot.com/2010/03/holi-festival-of-colours-st-georges.html
excited to see this in a bigger venue!

New Chapter

Catching up on my blogging been having that 'I haven't done my homework' feeling but have been quite busy over the last few months as I got a new management position at The Rusty Zip! To begin a new chapter and to celebrate our website re-launch we decided to throw our first end of Summer party. During business hours on Saturday the 27th of August we invited three local bands to play (Pixel Vs Nanobot, Andy Train and The Alice Kona Band) alongside artist Stephen Maurice Graham of 400 facts to capture the day on paper (see top illustration.) We had goodie bags filled with postcards, our ebay listings and sweets. Popcorn, cupcakes and savoury snacks were also compulsory! With the help of our wonderful sourcer Lauren we managed to showcase our first ever 'Rusty Collection' based on 1950s teddy girls, mixing houndstooth, leopard print and lace to create a modern edge.

Thankfully the day was a success so watch this space for future collections and a festive Christmas party happening in store next month! Get your Christmas jumpers out ;)
