This year's launch of Fall For Fashion revealed a brand new venue for this prestigious event. Right in the heart of Belfast ‘Double Yellow,’ behind Desks International, Bruce Street Belfast has never before been used, but from 6-8 October this edgy, funky warehouse will be transformed. The fashion for using unexpected and quirky venues is new to Belfast but event sponsor James Simpson, Magners Marketing Manager at Tennent’s NI, believes it’s something that could catch on quickly. He says,
“St George’s Market has been a great home for us over the years and has provided a really interesting backdrop for the shows but it’s time to move on and give the whole thing a bit of a shake-up! True style is about what’s fresh and unexpected and that goes for show venues as well as what’s on the catwalk. We’re all really excited about what’s on offer at Double Yellow with its warehouse feel. It was so hard to keep the lid on the speculation about where we’d be popping up, but it was worth it as it all helped add to the sense of expectation which precedes every show!”

The opening night will be themed 'Something Old, Something New' incorporating vintage attire with High Street favourites and customised designs from students from Belfast Metropolitan College, supported by the Unite Against Hate campaign. The second night, ‘Boutique Chic’ boasts the crème de la crème of local boutiques from across Northern Ireland.
The finale evening entitled ‘Designers NI’, will boast the hottest design talent. Local fashion designers were invited to submit applications for the opportunity to preview their Spring / Summer 2011 collections - a first for Northern Ireland.

Tickets for each night cost £10 and are available at Ticketmaster www.ticketmaster.co.
uk or from www.fallforfashion.com. Tickets include a complimentary bottle of Magners Light and a generous goodie bag. Profits from Ticket sales will be donated to Friends of the Cancer Centre.

Farewell Summer

Dress - The Rusty Zip

Ethereal blue 1950s frock and pearl bracelets adds an air of classic glamour (very Grace Kelly.) Notice her toes match those coral petals! I also photographed Susie back in February - http://belfastfashion.blogspot.com/2010/02/cheeky-for-valentines.html
